cold air

Really cold air forcefully coming up through registers when defrost cycle is on..temperature drops 2 full degrees in house ...system says" auxillary heat on"...lasts about 6 minutes then heat comes back on....york 5 ton model YHJF LX series

May be your heater strip is not working or too small in kw

YOUR AUX. HEAT NOT WORKING.CHECK FUSES,BREAKERS,OR EVEN IF THERE WAS INSTALLED..THIS WILL KEEP YOU WARM WHILE IN DEFROST CYCLE.
