I have the same issue. But I switched connections and the problem still remains. And with the thermostat set to 76 with the room at 80 I get heat. If I change the temp set to 82 heat will change to cool air, and it takes hours for the room temp to drop down.

It works on opposite thinking - cool sends out heat, heat sends out cool. Moving the temp set up turns on the air, moving the temp set down, turns on the heat.

I need help...please

Does it cool in the heat mode? If the answer is Yes, the thermostat is probably wired incorrectly. The reversing valve wire should be on the "O" or "B" terminal, switch it to the other terminal, i.e.
if on "B", switch to "O", etc.
