Heat pump odor

(Ohio)

We had a Bryant furnace and heat pump installed in Sept., 2014. Model FV4C & Model 285BNA 030-C. The first year it worked well. Starting last year, most times that the auxiliary heat comes on, we have a foul odor throughout the house. The smell lasts only as long as the auxiliary is on. The unit heats well and when the air conditioner is on in warm weather, we have no problem. Our installer has been out two or three times last year and this year. They checked the air handler & amped out all strip heats. We had our ducts cleaned by a professional. We are getting very discouraged because it is embarrassing when we have family & friends over. Would it be safe to have the auxiliary turned off? Or do you have other suggestions?
