Trane heat pump shuts down at 0 degrees fahrenheit

The new Trane heat pump cuts off completely at 0 degrees. The installer was told that this 15 seer model is designed to shut down because it can no longer work effectively. My previous heat pump continued to run and aid the auxillaty heat. Is this a setting in the outdoor unit or in the thermostat? Can it be changed?

If there is no auxiliary heat, that is true. However, I would continue to question further if there is auxiliary heat. Electric heat should not be affected by outdoor temperature. However other components may be affected. Sorry I couldn't help further. Let us know what happened.
